Pres Release: A NEW BREED OF SERVICE DOG TO HELP ALTER ABLED PEOPLE IS HERE. PLEASE HELP FIND A WORTHY RECIPIENT The medias help is needed to find an alter
abled person or appropriate service dog organization to receive the
donation of a new breed of service dog. This is a non shedding dog suitable
for people with allergies to dog hair and who could have a more independent
life with the help of a dog to pull their wheelchair and to do other
service tasks. The dogs are bred to pull a wheelchair, pull a dog cart,
do agility, follow horses or they can be a pet for someone with an active,
athletic lifestyle. The breed is called Giant Schnoodles of Joy. They
are a hybred of a standard poodle with a giant schnauzer. The breed
has been developed by Joy de la Ren. The dogs generally sell for over
$1,000. However, one dog will be donated if the right person or organization
is found so that someone can have a more independent lifestyle with
the help of a service dog. Joy spent several years using a wheelchair
when, in 1996, she was struck with a painful debilitating illness. During
this period, she trained both standard poodles and a giant schnauzer
to pull her wheelchair, and pull a dog cart. She decided that a combination
of these 2 breeds would give the strength and heat resistance of a giant
schnauzer with the intelligence and trainability of a poodle. So she
developed the Giant Schnoodle of Joy. The breeding took several years
of planning. Extensive genetic and orthepedic testing was done on the
parents, and on April 9, 2003, 6 Giant Schnoodles of Joy were born:
3 boys and 3 girls. The result is a strong, healthy, intelligent, puppy
with a black glossy, wavy, non shedding coat that shed dirt, dust and
even burrs! The puppies are very people oriented and already come on
command and do not soil their crates. To learn more about this new breed,
and see pictures of the puppies, and parents, the web site (still under
construction) can be seen at www.campstamp.com Click on dogs of Joy.

the dog, applicants can print out an application form which will be
